He was happy to be known to us as the fat controller. He loved a joke and was always laughing with us or at us. Since some of us have retired or moved on we have only met Phil for a Christmas drink once a year but oh how we will miss him this year. His larger than life character and voice will not be forgotten. His old team will once again be meeting for a drink this year and we will certainly raise a glass to him. From his own description of himself, we have lost both a sightscreen and heavy roller. But most importantly we have lost one of the nicest and funniest people you could have ever been lucky enought to have met. RIP Phil, there will now always be a huge hole behind the stumps.
